Girls 3x3 Tournament
This weekend, LDM proudly hosted its first 3x3 girls' tournament, with over 30 talented young athletes from across the region showcasing their skills. The event was a testament to the power of teamwork, sportsmanship, and sheer talent. It was a resounding success, thanks to the unwavering support of the LDM community. The referees, table officials, and volunteers all contributed their time and effort voluntarily, embodying the spirit of unity and dedication. The event also raised an impressive £450 through a raffle and team entry, ensuring that the upcoming season will be well-supported with new kits.
Having only relaunched its girls' program in September 2023, LDM's rapid growth and the surge of passionate girl’s basketball players in Leeds was nothing short of inspiring. Everyone involved—participants, spectators, and volunteers—shared a unified vision: to promote girls' basketball and provide a platform for young women to display elite-level basketball in the region. All that aside, this tournament was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of the potential and excellence of female basketball players.
I hope that going into the future season, we can continue to grow these 3x3 tournaments into something even bigger.
“I felt the event went extremely well, and it was a fantastic opportunity to link up with other teams which provided great competition. I enjoyed watching all of the girls help each other out and talk to each other about tactics going into their next games, and felt immense pride for the girls competing from LDM”
